But I ain't ever heard snow being included in that little rhyme. We're fresh off of Spring Break and I had to pull my winter coat/hat outta retirement. Brrrr!
The summer's approaching, which means my lil' man will be here. That also means that I'll get to see more of my other half without the constant distractions that are collectively referred to as her "roommates."
This job at this animal hospital has been pretty boring so far, until yesterday. I experience heartbreak...I'm around sick/dead dogs all day, but this couple brought in this little Siberian Husky puppy that had been hit by a car. I was explaining to the guy that I had always wanted a Husky puppy, but I couldn't afford one right now. I picked the little guy up, and he was bleeding from his mouth. After I put him in the exam room with the doctor, I went back to my usual job in the back. I was making my rounds, and the couple was like "You want a Husky, right?" I was like "Well, yeah." The chick cut me off and said "Well, we gotta go and either you take this dog or we're leaving him on the street." I was like "I can't let ya'll do that." And with that, they left.
That's not even the bad part. He actually has an owner, but he/she refused to claim him. So, legally, I couldn't take the pup home with me. So, the hospital had to call animal control to take him to the pound, where they keep him for two to three days so the owner can come and claim him. If he/she doesn't, they put him to sleep.
I damn near shed a tear...but I guess stuff like this happens all the time when you're working at an animal hospital.
Oh well, I'll get one someday! Happy Easter, everyone!
